It is a great pleasure for us to inform you about four former students from Shoreless Lake School who have recently earned their Associate in Arts Degree from the American institution Warren County Community College, New Jersey. After these successful years in USA, Luis Paredes (Class 2007), William González (Class 2008), Carlos Cruz (Class 2008), and James Kotch (Class 2008) have returned to Spain to pursue further education. Good luck in the new phase that awaits them! |

It is with the great sadness that we inform you of the recent demise of Mrs. Rebecca Thompson. Mrs. Thompson worked as Lower School Director of the American School of Madrid for several years. Since the beginning of Shoreless Lake Schoolin Spain, Mrs. Thompson contributed very closely to the progress of our institution toward the high academic level that it has reached. Mrs. Thompson´s love for teaching and for SLS impelled her to travel to our center in several occasions to support selflessly the work of ourfaculty members. Also, Mrs. Thompson coordinated visits of our teachersto ASM and both encouraged and promoted our participation in many educational conferences. We want to express our unending gratitude to Mrs. Thompson for her friendship and our deepest condolences to her family for their loss. |

As Dean of an International School, I must go back and forth with texts in several languages at both academic and administrative levels. As time becomes scarcer, using a dictionary, even a good one, becomes a problem… at least until I crossed paths with this wonderful program. At first I was wary, for I have seen many translation programs and none were to my satisfaction, for they lacked that quality of nuance and precision good translators have. To my surprise, however, this was different. It had nothing to envy from the traditional methods—in fact, you have a great compilation from the best dictionaries—and the job got done in a blink of an eye!!! My joy was complete when I saw it even had Latin. As a Classics Major, this has been a personal joy for me.
I cannot emphasize enough what an extraordinary tool Babylon v.8 has become in my job. Everybody wins: administrators, teachers, and students. I can get the best on and off-line in a matter of seconds.
